Professional life and qualifications
In my professional life, these days I work as a Chartered Professional Accountant. I currently serve as VP Operations for Canada’s largest cleantech accelerator, managing a team covering accounting and finance, contracts, risk management, data and IT.
I am originally a geologist by training, and spent five years managing mineral exploration programs in Canada’s north. I then diversified my skillset and obtained an MBA, which eventually led me down the finance path. For approximately the past decade, I have served as a Director on multiple boards, including the boards of public companies. I currently serve as audit committee chair and as an independent director for two publicly traded companies.
What do I have to offer you as a trustee? My professional roles have required strong leadership and collaboration skills, including managing and working with diverse groups. I am a team player who thrives in complex operational environments and excels at bringing people together, even in challenging or contentious situations.
See my perspectives page for some of my thoughts on the trustee role.
On a personal note…
I have lived on Gabriola since 2020. Since 2022, I have volunteered with the Silva Bay Yacht Club (SBYC) as Treasurer.
Maybe we have met somewhere around the island. You might know me from boating.
Maybe we met on the trails. I am a passionate rescue dog owner and love taking in all of the natural beauty that Gabriola has to offer!
